The production surrounding two impressive shows at Rotterdam’s Ahoy Arena by Dutch rising star Davina Michelle saw an imaginative fusion of dance and rock ‘n’ roll that united some of the best and most innovative talents on the Dutch production scene. These included artistic directors Sophie and Sander Reneman from multidisciplinary, creative agency TWOFIFTYK and Marc Heinz who was asked to design lighting.

Schouwburg is the municipal Theatre in Kortrijk in the West Flanders region of Belgium, and is located right at the heart of this attractive city in Schouwburgplein (Theatre Square). Flanked by several historic buildings, it offers two stage spaces, an 800-seater main hall and a smaller 120 capacity space that is scheduled for a complete rebuild over the next two years.
Robe T1 Profile LED luminaires have been installed at the 1700 capacity Capitole Theatre in Ghent, Belgium, where they are deployed on the front lighting bridge for key lighting and specials, replacing the previous tungsten fixtures. Theater Aan de Parade in Den Bosh, Netherlands, has been closed for a complete refurbishment since August 2020 and will be reopened again in 2023. During this time (Covid regulations notwithstanding) the venue has planned to stage productions in eight venues in and around the city including Hall 8 of the city’s Brabanthallen exhibition centre, which has 860 seats and is the largest of the temporary venues.

Ljubljana Puppet Theatre (Lutkovno Gledališče Ljubljana) is famous for both puppet productions and live acting dramas, musicals, and other performance entertainments in and around its various spaces, which are also available for business events. The 200 capacity Saint Jacob’s (Šentjakobsko) Hall auditorium has recently re-opened after a complete 8-month renovation plan.
Curve Theatre in Leicester, UK, saw a welcome return to live audience performances with a run of “The Music of Andrew Lloyd Webber”, a new production that is part of the venue’s socially distanced season. An eye-catching lighting design was created by Ben Cracknell for this spirit rousing, in-the-round show directed by the theatre’s artistic director Nikolai Foster, featuring a talented cast including Lloyd Webber musical stars and a fabulous live band.
