The brand-new Amare building is an arts, culture, and educational hub on the Spui in Den Haag, the Netherlands which opened last year at the heart of this lively capital city, after six years of construction. Built on the footprint of the old Lucent Danstheater, Amare is a new centre for excellence and houses the Dance and Music Center, The Hague Foundation, the Residentie Orkest, the Nederlands Dans Theater (NDT) and the Royal Conservatoire.
Busy and vibrant live music venue, Doornroosje, in Nijmegen, the Netherlands, has invested in more Robe moving lights for its two main performance halls, which are action-packed with a full programme – currently staging around double the number of pre-covid shows such is the demand – making up for down time during the pandemic!
The 256-capacity Concert Hall at the Hrvatski Dom in Split, Croatia’s second city and vibrant cultural hub, is enjoying new Robe T1 Profile moving lights as part of a technical investment that was instigated and specified by the venue’s head of technical, Slaven Tahirbegovic.
Bayreuth, Germany, an epicentre of creativity and exploration in the world of opera, hosted its third Baroque Opera Festival (BBOF) this year with a lively programme of works including “Allesandro Nell’Indie”, which was lit by French LD David Debrinay using over 50 Robe moving lights including T1 and T2 Profiles and LEDBeam 350s.
The Théâtre du Châtelet, an iconic arts and cultural landmark venue in the 1st arrondissement of Paris, designed by Jean-Antoine-Gabriel Davioud and completed in 1862, re-opened to the public in 2019 after several years of extensive renovation work. The theatre has recently re-opened again post pandemic.
Robe celebrated two PLASA Innovation Awards, stunned audiences with its eye-catching “All Environments” live performance show - the only one at the 2022 PLASA expo; launched its new iFORTE™ high powered IP rated LED moving light in style; introduced its brand new TX1 PosiProfile which was presented live for the first time; showcased several other inventive and cool iSeries products; … AND enjoyed the buzz and vitality of a production industry that’s back to full speed.
The production surrounding two impressive shows at Rotterdam’s Ahoy Arena by Dutch rising star Davina Michelle saw an imaginative fusion of dance and rock ‘n’ roll that united some of the best and most innovative talents on the Dutch production scene. These included artistic directors Sophie and Sander Reneman from multidisciplinary, creative agency TWOFIFTYK and Marc Heinz who was asked to design lighting.
