Roskilde – Denmark’s largest and highest profile international music festival and a glorious and diverse celebration of music, art, activism, and freedom – celebrated 50 years this year with a fantastic line-up across multiple stages, with Robe moving lights playing a major role on the famous Orange Stage and in the expansive Arena Stage venue.
For the first time in its 64-year history, the 2020 Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) due to be staged in May in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic, and all 41 qualifying countries have been invited back – same time and place – in 2021 with the same artists … who will be singing different songs!
“The power of our diversity unites us” screamed the headers emblazoning the Main Stage at Budapest’s fabulous Sziget Festival, which saw another amazing lineup including Martin Garrix, The 1975, Florence + The Machine, Foo Fighters and Ed Sheeran amongst many others thrilling up to 80,000 fans a day for 7 days … there and across the other performance stages and activities all over this beautiful island site.
The world’s largest and most spectacular water-based show – The House of Dancing Water directed by the legendary Franco Dragone and staged in the purpose-built House of Dancing Water Theatre in Macau – has just added 63 new Robe moving lights to the theatre’s rig.
Robe presented part two of its “Lost Worlds” exhibition live show trilogy concept at LDI (Live Design International) in Las Vegas, with another jaw-dropping booth design and an edgy, hi energy 8-minute live dance extravaganza designed to illustrate its latest technologies in the context for which they have been developed.
Robe brought an animated, vibrant, high-impact theatre meets rock ‘n’ roll live show to the centre of its stand design at the 2018 PLASA entertainment technology expo in London’s Olympia.
Robe BMFL moving lights – a mix of 108x BMFL Spots, WashBeams and Wash XFs, plus 80x Spiider LED wash beams – proved a perfect match to light the first Laver Cup international tennis tournament.
Robe moving lights made a major contribution at the 2017 Colours Of Ostrava (COO) festival with nearly 100 fixtures utilized to light the ArcelorMittal Stage in a stylish and flexible production design created by Kamil Kruzik. The lights were supplied by oneAVteam, the largest audio visual rental group in Central Europe. Three companies cooperated on this project – AV MEDIA, RentalPRO and YVENTECH.
‘Morning Blossoms’ is an extraordinary and breathtakingly beautiful ‘Brave New Musical’ produced by ODD Continent, fusing the disciplines of opera, ballet, dance, music and drama in a compelling performance about parents, children, families and communities separated by natural disasters.
Robe took its winning themed theatre environment concept to the 2016 Prolight+Sound expo, transporting the Robe Piazza to Hall 3 of the Frankfurt Messe, where the Czech manufacturer invested in a space three times larger than at any previous Prolight …. and ensured it was the talk of the show!
