Stark, raw and provocative, “Full Frontal” is an uncompromising new dance piece by choreographer Juanjo Arqués billed as ‘a ballet about real people and actual feelings’ set to “Weather One” a musical score by Michael Gordon. It was presented by the Dutch National Ballet and staged at the Dutch National Opera in Amsterdam. It explores the stresses and tensions of our fractured and often polarised society as it faces physical obstacles that swap – ironically – with psychological projections of challenging conditions.
De Tocht is an exciting new ice-based musical production staged in the purpose-built 1475-capacity Friso Theater in Leeuwarden, the Netherlands. Directed by Eddy Habbema and choreographed by Marc Forno, the production design was created by Luc Peumans, artistic director of Painting with Light (PWL), whose brief encompassed lighting, video and scenography, an ambitious collage of visual disciplines to capture all the skating action presented in “spectacular” style.

The impressive façade of the Theatre Royal de la Monnaie de Munt (Royal Theatre of the Mint) in central Brussels dates to 1818 and announces The National Opera of Belgium in great style and presence. Belgium’s leading opera house is a federal funded institution taking the name of this theatre in which it is housed – ‘La Monnaie’ in French or ‘De Munt’ in Dutch – referring both to the building and the opera company itself.
