Lighting and Visuals Designer Peter Vervloesem has just joined Bass Events, one of the most proactive organisers of EDM events in Belgium, as their ‘house’ production designer. Peter has previously worked in the same capacity on several Bass Events’ projects as a freelancer.
Bass Events believes in offering their audiences the very highest production values, hence their desire to have a production designer on-board to oversee continuity and focus just on this element of their live events.
Peter is also a keen Robe advocate and so we can expect to see more Robe moving lights in the future on Bass Events shows!
In June, he specified a selection of Robe moving lights for the massive Bass Events Outdoor Stage at Sunrise Festival, staged at the fabulous recreation area De Lilse Bergen, which kicked off their 2013 summer season.
With 3 days, 11 stages, more than 300 international artists and 24 different hosting partners, the Sunrise Festival experienced great weather and was enjoyed by 50,000 dance music fans over the weekend.
The Main Stage and the Bass Events Outdoor Stage at Sunrise Festival both featured Robe LEDWash 1200s.
The tented Tokyo Stage – with lighting designed by Patrick Bellens from The Creative Factory (TCF) used ROBIN Pointes and LEDWash 1200s, while on the French Kiss Stage, ROBIN LEDWash 800s were used for front key lighting.
Lighting equipment for Sunrise Festival was supplied by a number of rental partners including L&L Stage Service, Phlippo Showlight and Concept 1.
This will be followed by the one-day event Sunset Festival – now in its third edition - at the same location end of September, which will close the summer season. This year’s Sunset Festival hopes to see the capacity increased from 16,000 to 20,000, with five action packed performance stages.
Before that, Bass Events staged The Qontinent in conjunction with Q-Dance at the recreation area Puyenbroeck at Wachtebeke, featuring Hardstyle, Jump/Tek Style, Hard Techno and Hardcore … plus Robe LEDBeam 100s and ROBIN 600E Spots.
Also on this same event, the Main Stage, designed by Patrick Bellens from TCF included Robe MMX Spots and Pointes.
For Peter, specific Robe moving lights, including LEDBeam 100s, the 600E Spots and Pointes with their speed, fast zoom and high output are perfect for lighting EDM. The LEDWashes with their individual ring control are also ideal for creating the lighting aesthetic that best matches this genre of music.
