Robe’s Kuala Lumpur based distributor, Dynamix, decided to launch a major initiative and investment in lighting throughout 2004 and kicked off this ambitious action-plan at PALA 2004 in Kuala Lumpur. The show presented “The perfect opportunity” said Dynamix’ MD Michael Tan and marketing manager Alan Wong.

Making a strong joint statement for Robe and Dynamix by designing an impressive exhibition booth, they also underlined their brand commitment by investing in 60-pieces of Robe ColorSpot 1200 AT’s for stock, complete with strategic support from the local rental and production companies. For a ‘show finale’, Dynamix turned the Thursday evening of the exhibition into a truly memorable evening at Café Flam, in KL’s hyperactive entertainment district, resulting in Robe and Dynamix being the ‘talk of the town’ at PALA.

The exhibition, held in Singapore during the ‘odd’ years, travels to various South East Asia destinations during the even years, and this year came to the MIECC (Mines International Exhibition and Conference Center) in Kuala Lumpur.

The organizers encountered huge challenges keeping the noise levels in the hall under control, but the show was a big success for Robe and Dynamix. “

We saw many, many contacts, and have much follow up work to do in the next few weeks, not just here in KL, but all over Malaysia,

We’re delighted with our investment, and the spend has been entirely justified. We have stood out from all the other moving light brands, and I’m certain that all former OEM customers will now continue as fully committed Robe customers.

Robe’s International Sales Manager Harry von den Stemmen sees a breakthrough for Robe as a quality brand in Malaysia: “

Robe is extremely pleased that Dynamix has purchased over 60 ColorSpot 1200 ATs for the local market, and the important production companies like CMG are also supporting Robe with large purchases – on this case of 40 ColorSpot 1200 ATs. They have big plans to expand even further, and put more trust and confidence into our products!

When the show ended after 4 days, Robe’s Marketing Manager David Srba stated,

“It was no surprise to have seen more Malaysian than International visitors here at PALA, and we certainly maximized the opportunity to reach this market. On the last day, we set up a product training session for all our customers here and had over 50 participants”

The training session was staged and run by Dynamix at the prestigious nearby "Palace of the Golden Horses" venue, and led by Robe’s Service Manager Jiri Holub. Holub thought the location was excellent as was the support and efforts of Michael Tan, Allan Wong and the entire Dynamix crew.
