The event was enjoyed by 15,000 revellers who packed the house to hear performances by a host of top international DJs including Westbam, Ferry Corsten, Armin van Buuren and various others and dance the night away non-stop to 16 hours of top techno, trance, house, electronica and live acts.

The Robes – a combination of ColorSpot and ColorWash 1200 ATs were all supplied by leading German rental company Satis&Fy GmbH from Ascheberg, and were arranged over 19 moving trusses – along with other fixtures and conventional lights. Kuhn and his operators Björn Hermann and Rolf Wenzel ran the show using three networked Hog3s.

Kuhn chose to use Robes for their “Reliability, brightness and speed”. He has used them before many times – also on this type of event which is very demanding on any fixtures. From experience, he knew that the units would have no problem dealing with the 16 hours of continuous operation. He adds that particularly likes the narrow beam capabilities of the ColorWash 1200 AT, making it ideal for a rave lighting tool where the need is to cover vast areas with spectacular hi-impact effects.
