Princess Cruises Selects Robe TE Fixtures for Immersive LED Lighting and Sustainability Enhancement

Princess Cruises, a leader in worldwide cruising, has taken a major step toward sustainability and delivering outstanding live performances by upgrading the lighting rig in their 1000-seat Princess Theatre on the Crown, Emerald, and Ruby Princess ships. In a project completed in 2023, Princess Cruises Fleet Lighting Supervisor Matt DeJong and the Princess Entertainment Technical team selected Robe Lighting TE (TRANSFERABLE ENGINE) fixtures, ushering in a new era of LED lighting technology to enhance the cruise line's entertainment offerings.

Theater De Leest in Waalwijk, the Netherlands, is a contemporary cultural centrepiece of the city and its surrounding region, which opened in 1996. A major refurbishment 10 years ago saw the addition of the ‘new’ 200 capacity black box theatre hall complete with a retractable seating system, making it a flexible space, which, together with the existing 520-seater main auditorium, offers a vibrant programme of musicals, concerts, cabaret, family shows, opera, dance, youth theatre, and film screenings.

Endla Theatre in Pärnu, Estonia, has reinvested in Robe LED products across its two performance halls as part of a wider conversion to LED lighting, related to the Estonian “Green Turn” initiative. This has seen 16 of the country’s major theatres – a mix of local government and private performing arts institutions – convert lighting stock from tungsten-halogen to LED over the last 12 months.
