Based in Comodoro Rivadavia, Chubut in the south of Argentina, Fusión Sur provides lighting, sound, video and structures for a wide variety of shows and events.
Through Robe’s Argentinian distributor, TSD Group, Fusión Sur purchased eight Robe ROBIN Pointes last year to add to their available lighting stock. They have been in constant use ever since they were delivered … and everyone loves them!
Recently they took centre stage for a tour by Uruguayan rock band No Te Va a Gustar (NTVG) through the Argentinian south which played in Neuquén, Esquel, Trelew, Comodoro Rivadavia and Río Gallegos, and also for a show by Italian artist Franco de Vita in Comodoro Rivadavia.
NTVG’s Lighting Designer was Martín Arriola and Franco de Vita’s was Roberto Penso.
For all these gigs Fusión Sur provided full technical production and support services, working directly for the management and by production company of both bands, Arriba el Telón.
For No Te Va a Gustar’s shows the eight Pointes were positioned on a truss at the back of the stage above the LED screen, while for Franco De Vita, they were on the floor at the front of the stage, four per side.
Nahuel Rivera, one of the partners and managers of Fusión Sur in charge of the Lighting department, says, “We are really happy with the Pointes. They have many great features... from the light weight which means they can be easily rigged and transported, to their actual performance in shows. For a fixture with such a small footprint and low power consumption we have found a moving light with endless possibilities. The Pointe is perfect for use as a beam, spot, wash or effects unit, and brings a huge amount of lighting power to any occasion”.
Right now, Fusión Sur owns only eight ROBIN Pointes … but Nahuel states that they hope to increase that in the future!
“The Pointes are working wonderfully and for me Robe is a great brand! Ever since I have had them, they have worked flawlessly on every show!”
In addition to these artists, Fusión Sur has used their Pointes for other projects like the opening of a Scania agency; YPF’s New Year party in Comodoro Rivadavia; Los Cafres show during the Personal Fest in Las Grutas, Río Negro; the Cueva de las Manos Festival in Perito Moreno, Santa Cruz; a Telebingo Chubutense event with Los Nocheros performing and more recently, at Comodoro Rivadavia’s anniversary party with shows by Ciro y los Persas and numerous other bands.
