Canberra Festival 2012, Australia

These were supplied by locally based Elite Sound & Lighting, a leading AV rental and installation company who were appointed to supply technical production and crew to numerous areas and productions integral to the Festival.

A mix of Robe ROBIN 600 LEDWash and 600E Spots were specified by Elite’s MD Darren Russell – to light a variety of different shows.

Ballet in The Park was universally popular, with ‘all the hits and more’ performed by some of Australia’s top dancers on a multi-functional outdoor stage in Commonwealth Park. Stage lighting included 24 x LEDWash 600s and eight ROBIN 600E Spots which added plenty of colour and drama, providing many additional ambient effects.

Symphony In The Park saw the Canberra Symphony Orchestra (CSO) conducted by Timothy Sexton perform under the stars on the same stage with stirring renditions of a selection of Hollywood’s greatest movie hits. This was also lit almost completely with Robe luminaires  – 24 x LEDWash 600s and 16 x ROBIN 600E Spots.

Another highlight in Commonwealth Park was a massive party to celebrate Canberra’s birthday. The entertainment line-up included a lively mix of Australia’s top talent plus several international artists, all of whom benefitted from using the  Robe lighting rig for their shows. The memorable evening concluded with a spectacular fireworks display  illuminating the night sky, visible from afar!

Elite Sound and Lighting’s Robe fixtures were purchased via Robe’s very proactive Australian distributor, ULA.
